Akako Koizumi is a fictional character. She is a 17 year old classmate of Kaito Kuroba, Aoko Nakamori, and Saguru Hakuba. She appears mostly in the Magic Kaito manga, though she has had at least two appearances in the "Detective Conan" anime series.

Akako Koizumi is one of last true witches who is capable of summoning black magic [1]. Koizumi lives in a creepy castle-like house with a deformed butler who resembles "Egore" from the story, Frankenstein, and has a secret lair in the basement. In addition, she also in possession of a magic mirror and a crystal ball, which both can talk to her [2]. Koizumi is extremely vain and believes that she should have the power to make all men fall in love with her [3] [4]. However, the magic mirror tells her that the only person that her spells will not work on is the Kaitou Kid, for an unknown reason [5].
Koizumi never tells anyone else about Kaito's night life, but she makes it clear to Kaito in private that she knows his secret-- and he always denies knowing what she is talking about. Despite this, she admires what he does and goes out of her way to warn him of possible traps set by the police [6].
[edit] Plot Overview
When Koizumi goes to school on Valentine's Day and tries to win over all the boys with her charms, Kaito refuses her. She then realizes he must be the Kaitou Kid, and eventually falls in love with him. She later makes a voodoo doll of Kaito in an attempt to control him. However, he eventually escapes her clutches and tells her that he finds it sad that she feels a need to use black magic to steal peoples' hearts. He explains that he prefers magic tricks, since even though it may not be "true magic," the audience always has fun, and are happy while watching [7]. In another volume, she tries to enter a ski competition with Kaito, but he later ends up tricking her and enters as Aoko's partner instead [8].
In Volume 3, File 4 of the manga, Saguru Hakuba narrows down that Kaitou Kid may be Kaito Kuroba based on a hair sample and some DNA evidence that he had found after one of his heists. Akako's crystal ball tells her that he would be arrested if he goes through with the next heist, because Saguru and the police set a special trap for him. Since she loves him, she confronts him and tells him about the trap. He of course, denies being Kid and plans to go anyway.
Saguru later invites Kaito and Aoko to go with him to see the heist, Kaito reluctantly agrees in order to throw off their suspicion. When he goes to sneak away to perform the heist, Saguru keeps him from going anywhere, and he can't get away. However Akako disguised as "Kid" still shows up and flies out the window on a broomstick.
[edit] Other Appearances
Her appearance in the "Detective Conan" anime was brief in Episode 219, but she warns Kaito about a detective who may bring him down, who ends up being Jimmy (Shinichi) Kudo. Although Kudo does not catch Kid, Kaito realizes he is a formidable enemy, the closest one to catching him and even better than Saguru.
She also makes an appearance in the first Detective Conan OVA.
